Changes to my study programme
When I was reading the topics in this blog I was thinking a lot of changes that I would like to happens in my career.
I study architecture at the University of Chile and I course 3rd year of career.
As you can imagine, I have to use different softwares like Photoshop, Autocad, Archicad, Ilustrator, In design, Sketchup, etc. The problem with that is the licences, because the university gives you only some of these. I always think about Adobe, we don't have a licence and we use that a lot! I really hope that changes and finally to be able to use these programs without having to hack them or pay dearly for them.

Softwares of Adobe.
The second change it´s about the curriculum, I think we need more Sustainability course during the career because currently we just have one. It's very important to learn architecture from a solid base of good intentions with the environment and know how to make better use of natural resources for the design of a project and be able to emit zero emissions. Also, it´s necessary to understand the origin of materials and start proposing an architecture that can make a big contribution to the quality of the environment and the climate change.
I remember talked about these in a class and a lot of students are agree with that.

And, the finally change that I talk about is of course the teaching methods.
The currently established teaching method damages our mental health.
There is an excessive academic load. Many task in a very short time and many classes passed very quickly. We have to send a bigs homework's every week, somethings we had 5 hours of classes, etc.
I think that being subjected to constant stress doesn't help to have a good learning.
The program should be changes the load and schedules that some course have. Also changes of teachers who use more humane teaching methods.
Goodbye!
thank u for reading me :)
I also think that being subjected to constant stress does not help to have a good learning.
ResponderEliminarYour ideas about the license of programs and more subjects about sustainability in the curriculum are so so good, and you are go right about he fact that we use a lot of programs but the University can offer a few ones license.
ResponderEliminarIn design it is the same experience, your ideas are good
ResponderEliminarSustainability should be a course present in all career even if appears to not need it. I think it will never hurt.
